Õpiõu. Outdoor classroom. Võilillemahlane telestaar. Buttercuppy TV star....

So yesterday you could see some crazy redhead at the bus station carrying some kind of a frame with lots of natural materials woven into a piece of rug. In addition a sack with lots of rope ends sticking out. The hands of this person were severely yellow-dotted and the hair had stuck together....
If you happened to recognized ME, you are not surprised. But if you are really dumb, I´ll explain: I came from a workshop. Kids were making a rug. On my frame. Did not finish it. So I had to hoist it on my back in full, when I started coming home.
Right, and my hands were yellow with buttercup milk, as well as my hair. Me and a little more known redhead were teaching the children how to make a chain of flowers.
Ahjaa, see toimus Narvas, kus ma polegi vist päris päeva ajal veel käinud. Viimane kord igastahes oli südaöösi.
Oh yeah, it all took place in our border city Narva, where I think I have not been yet in broad daylight. The last time was somewhere around midnight two years ago.
See oli muide ühtlasi telesaate salvestus. Mulle see värk ei istu!!!!
It was also a recording for an educational TV program. I don´t like that....
We were at a kindergarten with russian children who learn estonian though everyday activity. Their teacher said if I say something it has to be accompanied by visual example. But the director wanted me to speak really quickly, and then afterwords I could show how everything is done. But that way chidren don´t connect words with what I do....
Secondly there was a lot of thinking with the camera angle. I placed the weaving frame in a way all children could see it and reach it. But the cameraman said that way he hasnt got the child´s hand and the frame and the weft in focus at the same time. That the child has to stay further away from the frame and just place the sticks and yarns into the warp by reaching out his hand really far. Like that is possible! Should they perhaps hang from the climbing post upside down like monkeys too, just so he doesnt interrupt the "angle"?
Then the weaving itself was too slow for the director, she thought it would just miraculously appear by itself there. They waited until I had woven it about half way, then filmed how children decorated the rug with cones and yarn. It came out really cute, too bad we had no time to finish it. I left them the sample instead, that I had made at home....
Kurat.
This is the kind of thing very fit for a 2-day workshop, but in front of camera in 35 minutes....I do not think it is fair, in my eyes our main task there WAS to TEACH the children.
Still, I saw some old friends again and met new interesting people, and they should not think it did not have great fun! They can invite me for a guest again some time, but then I have to think of a craft that is as fast to make as it describing how to make it.
No arvake ära, kui palju võilillemahla see teeb...huhh.
OH, and I was that dirty with buttercup juice because they filmed the process in big frame and in close up, and I had to do everything at least twice - the start, the making process, finishing. And we had to do 6 shots for my text, I was so embarrassed to be so stupid. And then one of the show´s hosts was missing a chain of flowers on her head for the finishing shot, and I had to be quick as monkey to make her one. So guess how much buttercup juice...huhuhh.

P.S. Heheh. Juhtub.
I managed to frighten the host Maarja with my outfit, cause she said she had similar yellow coat, brown trousers and a striped sweater, and as we were both redheads.... She probably thought the producer had arranged a stunt double for her! heheh. Happens.
