Kultuuride katel Tallinn. Cultural meeting point Tallinn?

Enne, kui lähen edasi Norra reisimuljetega, tahaks jagada emotsioone eilsest Kataloonia kultuuri päevast raekoja platsil (täna on ka, aga täna ma linna ei lähe nagunii).
Before I go on with impressions of Norway I would like to share the emotions of Catalonian Culture day on the Town Hall square, Tallinn.
Pidavat seesugune üritis toimuma igal aastal erinevas linnas. Plats oli katalaani keelt vuristavaid kodanikke täis, palju vanamehi, kes tuletasid kangesti meelde Yle tv 1-s näidatavat hispaania ülipopulaarset teleseepi Serranod ja sealseid kummis rinnaga iseteadlikke onkleid.
The event is said to take place in a different city each year and this year it was in our town. The square was packed with catalan speaking folks, many of which remindd me a lot of the proud gents from spanish TV soap Serranos.
Üldse oli kuidagi väga kosmopoliitne meeleolu, selline rahvaste paabel kus kohalikud veidrikud 8-kohalisel ringsel jalgrattal on segamini reggae-plaadi-ümbriselt-maha astunud tüüpide, jaapani "fruktide" (ekstsentriliselt manga stiilis riietuvad plikad), jänkidest backpackerite ja soome hevirokkaritega.
The town has acquired a rather cosmopolitan atmosphere with local weirdos on 8-seat round bikes and medieval costumes are mixed with just-walked-off-a reggae-cd-cover sultana raisin colored punks, japanese fruits (chicks with eccentric manga dressing code), yankee backpackers and finnish heavy rockers.
Tantsud, mida katalaanid platsil esitasid, olid nii pikad et lause "ainult üks tants veel!" oleks tähendanud veel 15-minutilist platsil viibimist.
The dances were so long watching "just one more!" would have meant spending another 15 minutes in front of the stage.
But the cultural kettle boiling in the town center would enable one to take a look at a different cultural just by takeing a late night walk in your own town.

Nice to see you posted a comment about the Catalan folk show that took place in Tallinn, your town. Hope you liked it in spite of your rather I-look-at-it-from-a-far-place comments.

I was one of the dancers with white shirt, black trousers and gloden yellow gaffs (like a very big and wide belt); and I think we danced that dance that, as you say, would take some 15 minutes to see again. I wonder if you were one of the locals who joined dancing it.

Anyway, thanks for your comments and keep it up!

all the best, bye!
